The Linke-Hoffman locomotives where some of the last new locomotives purchased Ramal Férreo de Santa Rita. Headquartered in the City of Encontrar in the state of Sao Paulo, Builder No.3085 was Numbered No.14, No.3084 was Numbered No.13. These German engines were selected after the predominately Baldwin supplied railroads, as Baldwin declined to produce new 60cm/2ft engines in 1926. These engines were later sold to Cia. Paulista de Estradas de Ferro CPEF [Brasilien] where they were numbered No.920 (Builder No.3085) and No.910 (Builder No.3084). No.910 was sold the Perus Pirapora railroad in 1957 as their Engine Number No.9. Later it suffered a head-on collision with either No.11 or No.2 in 1962 which caused the engine to be disassembled. The frame, all running gear and some of the cab still exist. Possibly the boiler was repaired for use in the cement kiln in Gato Preto. Also of note the trailing was changed from an inside the frame, inside supported wheel set to an outside the frame supported trailing truck which looks similar to American ALCO construction style. In 19?? the engine No.920 (Builder No.3085) was sold to Usina Serra Grande S.A. Alagaoas where it was regauged to 1000mm. At some time later it ended at the Parque Municipal do Vale do Itaim - Taubaté - SP Call the Secretaria Municipal de Meio Ambiente e Turismo de Taubaté (12) 224-4195 GPS 23° 2''''25.49"S 45°31''''49.35"W View Photos
